Pharmacist Prescribing Service
At Complete Care Pharmacy, our pharmacists are authorised to assess and prescribe treatment for eligible patients with uncomplicated shingles (herpes zoster), in line with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
You may benefit from this service if you have recently developed a painful rash with blistering on one side of the body or face.
Early treatment is important, as antiviral medicines are most effective when started within 72 hours of rash onset.
During a private consultation, your pharmacist will take the time to assess the onset and location of your rash, understand your symptoms, and determine whether prompt antiviral treatment or referral is the most appropriate next step.
How we can help
- Assess your rash and symptom history
- Prescribe antiviral treatment for eligible cases
- Provide advice on pain relief and skin care
- Discuss steps to reduce transmission
- Refer you if complications are suspected
