About our Nurse Practitioner, Hazel

Hazel is an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) who has been working in Hobart as an NP since her authorisation in 2010.

Hazel began her experience as an NP with a focus in aged care and mental health with the Older Persons Mental Health Service South.

Her additional experience also includes:

  • Research associate with the Wicking Research and Education Centre in Hobart
  • Unit Coordinator with the Nursing and Midwifery (School of Health Sciences) University of Tasmania
  • Board member of the Tasmanian Nursing and Midwifery Board
  • She is current Australian College of Nurse Practitioner’s Tasmanian Chapter Chair

Recently, Hazel has been working with Prof Rolland McCullum in a weight loss clinic and General Practice to upskill in general health care.

Hazel’s passion to improve access to timely health delivery for all Australians is the motivation behind her extensive training and experience, as well as her belief that nurses can be at the forefront of positive change in health care delivery models.
